Mental Health Raw and Open Podcast

A Bit About Me

May 1, 2019

Hi, my name is Jody and I am the creator and host of Mental Health Raw and Open. I am a writer, currently working on my book, and a trauma informed peer mentor and coach. I also suffer with a handful of mental illnesses, including Borderline Personality Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, c-PTSD, anxiety and persistent depressive disorder. I am a survivor of 14 years of childhood sexual abuse outside my home, domestic abuse in my childhood home, and I am also a three time suicide survivor. I openly share my struggles online and in my blog, in hopes of letting people know they are not alone in their thoughts and feelings, and if they reach out a hand, someone will reach back.

I am passionate about animals, soccer and helping others. I started this podcast to allow and encourage people to speak openly and candidly about their experiences with mental health. We will cover a variety of illnesses, and talk not only with sufferers, but caretakers, counsellors and therapists, authors, and celebrities including Michael Landsberg, founder of the #SickNotWeak charity and movement. I am so looking forward to this new endeavour and being able to share it with you.

Thank you for listening, and if you enjoy the show, I would love for you to leave a comment or some feedback.

Stay strong and be well.
